"Sarah Clarke as Nina Myers" Post-Gazette
(10/27/2002)
By Rob Owen, Post-Gazette TV Editor
From the start, Nina seemed like one of the good guys, even
after an early tease in the first season that she might be the
mole within the Counter Terrorism Unit.
That concern went away for a long time, but, in the end, there
she was, a mole within CTU, speaking a foreign language and
communicating with evil, vengeful Victor Drazen (guest star
Dennis Hopper).
"I was clued in when there were only six episodes
left," Sarah Clarke said. "I have to say, I was
thrilled. It gave me something very specific to play. It gave me
so many layers I could add."
Even so, it came as a surprise.
"I remember saying, 'Oh no, I love Jack, I would never do
that to Jack.' I think for a long time Carlos Bernard thought it
was him, then George Mason, but George was a little obvious. They
needed to make it a little more subtle."
Nina will return midseason for what's expected to be a
six-episode stint.
"I'm pretty sure I'm incarcerated in some sort of
capacity," Clarke said. "After a season of just one
outfit, I thought, great, now I'm just going to get prison
stripes."
