Psychic Driving

Psychic Driving is a gritty, noir piece set in the late 1950's - a fictionalized story based on actual accounts of government funded mind control experiments.
Ryan Barrett was taking his family to California to embark on a new life together. When their car runs out of gas, Ryan leaves his family behind to search for help. Hours later he returns only to find his wife and daughter brutally murdered on the side of the road.
Ryan is unable to deal with the tragic loss. He is admitted to the Dryden Memorial Institute under the supervision of renowned psychiatrist, Dr. Leonard Mahler. Ryan undergoes hideous experiments involving LSD injections and Electroconvulsive Therapy until he's induced to a catatonic state. Weak and defenseless - Ryan is tortured and ultimately brainwashed.
Ryan is released and relocated to a dingy apartment in New York City where he's given a job as a janitor. He is introduced to his prostitute neighbor, Selma, and they quickly develop an estranged friendship.
But as the weeks pass, Ryan is haunted by visions of his late wife and daughter. His paranoia starts to build as he questions everything around him... including Selma. What does she really want from him?
